Join Across Himalaya in a budget safari that will take you to explore Kathmandu, Chitwan National Park, and experience the Tharu culture. This safari will take you to the best tourist attractions in Kathmandu which is Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambunath, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath stupa. Day 1: Kathmandu

You should arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) (1345 meters). You will be met by Across Himalaya representative and transfer to a hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu

Sightseeing in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambunath (monkey temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath stupa.

Day 3: Kathmandu - Chitwan National Park

You will be transferred to Chitwan National Park by a tourist bus and Tharu village tour in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Chitwan National Park

You will get a jungle tour in the morning, canoeing and Jeep safari, visiting elephant breeding center in the afternoon, and Tharu cultural program in the evening. During the jungle walking, you will be accompanied by a well-trained naturalist that takes you to prime spots to view deer, rhino, sloth bears, and other wildlife. Detailed knowledge of the wildlife and jungle will enhance your trip. You will also get a traditional dugout that takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti River to view birds, crocodiles, and the animals of the river. It is available from October through to mid-March. During the Jeep safari, you will travel through open grassland and dense forest in a Jeep in search of rare games. You have to be on the lookout for the great one-horned rhino, four species of deer, wild boar, sloth bear, leopard, bison, and the big one, the royal Bengal tiger. In the evening, you will see the Tharu cultural dance. It is a melodious tribal dance performed by Tharu men to the rhythms of drums and with the clashing of stick embodies and projects how to drive away rhino and other wild animals from human habitat. Once the driving away of animals is achieved, the dance turns into joyful. After dinner at the hotel / lodge / tented camp, you can watch Tharu stick dance. Across Hilamaya will arrange dance for your enjoyment.

Day 5: Chitwan National Park - Kathmandu

An early morning walk through the bush and along the Rapti River is a must to view many of the more than 450 species of exotic birds including great hornbill, lesser florican, and paradise flycatcher. Again, you will be accompanied by an experienced naturalist. After bird watching tour in the morning, you will drive back from Chitwan to Kathmandu by a tourist bus.
